Privacy policy for Come Closer applicants and members

What we collect

When you apply we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, city, age range, what you are looking for and whatever you choose to tell us about yourself. If you become a member we may also collect photographs, lifestyle detail, relationship history and preferences, identity documents used for verification and the results of screening you have consented to.

We collect standard technical information when you visit the site, such as pages viewed and approximate location, through analytics.

How we use it

To review your application, to run consultations and onboarding, to verify identity, to curate and arrange introductions, to invite you to experiences and to communicate with you about membership. Inquiry information may also be kept in our contact system so we can tell you about Come Closer membership, experiences and the Journal, with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell personal information.

What other members can see

Only your member-facing profile: first name, age, city, profession or industry, selected photographs, a short biography, interests, relationship intention and selected travel information. Your private Come Closer profile, including legal identity, contact details, verification, the detailed questionnaire, preferences, relationship history and any notes or feedback, is never visible to other members. Private Profile mode removes you from general discovery entirely.

Who else sees it

Service providers who help us operate, such as identity verification and screening, email, hosting and analytics, under contracts that restrict their use of your data. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Retention periods for applicant and member information are being finalised with our privacy review and will be stated here before launch.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent, or opt out of marketing at any time by emailing inquire@joincomecloser.com. Residents of states with privacy laws, and residents of the EU and UK, have additional rights which we will honour.

Cookies and analytics

We use analytics to understand how the site is used, including how many people start and complete an application. Analytics data is anonymised where possible. You can block cookies in your browser.
